Custom Driveway Installation in New York & Connecticut
Asphalt, paver, gravel, and combination driveways — engineered base, drainage, and finish detail your property deserves. Since 1999.
A driveway is the first thing visitors see, the surface your family uses every day, and one of the most expensive single elements of your property's hardscape. Get it right and it lasts 25-30 years. Get it wrong and you're paying for it twice within a decade. JL Construction Group has been installing custom driveways across Westchester County NY and Fairfield County CT since 1999 — over 25 years of dialed-in execution across asphalt, paver, and gravel installations.
Every driveway we install starts the same way: a careful site survey, an honest assessment of soil, slope, and drainage, and a written estimate that lays out exactly what we're doing and why. No upsells, no surprises — just the engineering and finish detail your property deserves.
Types of Driveway Installations
Asphalt Driveways
The most common premium choice in NY/CT. Hot-mix asphalt with a properly engineered sub-base lasts 25-30 years.
Paver Driveways
Concrete or clay pavers in custom patterns. Higher upfront cost, but visually distinctive and exceptionally durable.
Gravel Driveways
For rural Wilton, Weston, Ridgefield, and Backcountry Greenwich properties. Properly engineered base and edging is essential.
Belgian Block-Bordered Asphalt
The classic premium combination — asphalt field with hand-set granite borders.
Combination Driveways
Asphalt main run with paver or stone aprons, or paver entry with asphalt motor court.
Permeable Driveways
Increasingly popular for stormwater compliance and environmental considerations.
Heated Driveways
Embedded radiant systems for melting snow on steep grades or premium properties.

Frequently Asked Questions
Asphalt or pavers — which is better for my driveway?
Asphalt costs less upfront and lasts 25-30 years. Pavers cost 2-3x more but can last 50+ years and offer custom design flexibility. Both are excellent in the Northeast.
How long does a driveway installation take?
A typical residential asphalt driveway runs 3-7 working days. Pavers take 5-10 days. Estate-scale or complex installations can run 8-15 days.
When is the best time of year to install a driveway?
Late April through October. Asphalt needs 50°F+ temperatures; concrete and pavers need above 40°F.
Do you handle the permit and curb-cut process?
Yes. Every town in our service area has its own permit process. We pull all required permits and coordinate inspections.
What's the lifespan of a properly installed driveway?
Asphalt: 25-30 years with proper sealcoating. Pavers: 50+ years with joint maintenance. Gravel: indefinite with annual top-dressing.
Can you replace just a section of my driveway?
Sometimes — if the failing section is contained and the rest is sound. We assess on-site and recommend section replacement or full rebuild as appropriate.
Is my new driveway warrantied?
Yes. All installations carry a written warranty. We walk you through warranty terms on every project.
